Work as a Social Auxiliary Worker with clients, residents and beneficiaries living with physical, mental, and intellectual disabilities throughout the care facilities and within Protective Employment.
Role and Responsibilities- Providing daily and basic psycho-social support and basic case management and counselling to residents and beneficiaries living with physical, mental and intellectual disabilities
- Provide basic emotional support services to beneficiaries and residents.
- Liaise with professionals through various departments of the Chevrah Kadisha, and external organisations such as DoSD.
- Attend DSD forums and assist with compliance with requirements.
- Complete monthly stats as required.
- Assist with SASSA and Home Affairs applications as well as accompanying residents and beneficiaries to SASSA and Home Affairs when required.
- Provide practical support and guidance for example regarding appointments, access to services.
- Work across departments, where required, in the various residential facilities and Protected Employment Workshop space.
- Attend family meetings and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team members, as needed
- Provide auxiliary support services to social workers with administration
- Crisis Management, relevant follow-ups and monitoring as required
- Complete client process notes and reports as required
- Maintain registers and statistics
- Conduct groups and educational talks with the beneficiaries and residents.
- Engage with family members and joint meetings should this be required.
- Assist Workshops Administrator with administrative tasks when needed such as tuck shop, registers and wages.
- Attend staff meetings with multi-disciplinary team.
- Attend regular supervision with supervisor.
- Plan and organise workshop monthly birthdays and Worker of the Month.
- Responsible for the Kadimah cellphone as a means of communication with beneficiaries and their families after working hours, when needed
- Coordination and monitoring of the Beneficiary Programmes.
- Accredited Social Auxiliary Worker qualification
- Registration with SACSSP
- Social Auxiliary Worker experience advantageous
- Experience in the field of disability
- Computer literacy in word and excel
- Problem solving

- Ability to work after hours when needed
