Chief Financial Officer - CA(SA) Public Sector

We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a CA(SA) designation and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a CFO role within the public sector. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial management, budgeting, and strategic planning within a governmental organization.

• Oversee all financial operations of the public sector organization, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Develop and implement financial strategies and policies to ensure the organization meets its financial goals and objectives
• Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team in compliance with all regulatory requirements and accounting standards
• Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute long-term financial plans and strategies
• Monitor and assess financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures as needed
• Represent the organization in financial matters with external stakeholders, including government agencies, auditors, and creditors
• Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations, ensuring the organization remains in compliance
• Provide guidance and support to other departments on financial matters, including budget development and financial analysis

Qualifications:

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA))
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a CFO role within the public sector
• Thorough understanding of government financial management practices and regulations
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to oversee a large finance team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Proven track record of driving financial performance and organizational success
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
