Senior Specialist: Actuarial Pricing

Responsibilities

• Using a variety of data sources, including industry knowledge, demographic data and claims data to assess the risk associated with Group Risk products, the incumbent will price such group schemes, both at quote and renewal stage.
• Provide guidelines and oversight to ensure the identification and assessment of the risks when pricing Group Risk products and to price / manage that risk accordingly.
• Identify, diagnose and recommend improvements and provide specialist advice and support; ensuring that solutions are appropriate and effective with regard to the mathematical models in use.
• Keep abreast of regulation and industry developments to advise and guide on key compliance risk issues; enabling informed decision making.
• Coordinate investigations /monitor performance of group risk schemes in order to establish and verify facts that leads to the identification and reduction of business risks which help with appropriate levels of pricing, which are profitable and sustainable.
• Accountable for the improvement of quality, service and work outputs, continuously recommending improvements.
• Plan for the organisation of work outputs and process improvement activities in light of a specific situational context related to the area of specialization.
• Proactively identify area of specialization related problems, determine cause and effect and recommend the best option to implement corrective action based on previous experience.

• 3 - 5 years’ experience in Pricing with some experience working within the Corporate Benefits/Umbrella Fund environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science
• Nearly qualified Actuary with strong progress toward actuarial qualification.
