Our Articled Planner Programme is a structured three-year development journey designed to build a strong technical, professional, and holistic foundation in financial planning. This role develops Financial Planners who are client‑centred, technically skilled, and aligned to Chartered Wealth’s purpose of helping clients get the most meaning from their money.
Through mentorship from a CFP® professional, hands‑on experience, and continuous learning, you will gain exposure to Chartered’s end‑to‑end financial planning process, platforms, and advice framework. The programme supports your journey toward your CFP® designation, helping you gain the skills and confidence to provide advice that is technically precise and aligned with what matters most to your clients. You will learn to communicate clearly, build meaningful relationships, lead meetings with ease, and ensure clients experience the highest standard of guidance and support.
KeyAreas of Development and Accountability
- Financial Planning Administration
Take ownership of administrative tasks, systems, and timelines, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail. - Financial Analysis and Modelling
Conduct financial analysis, gather and verify client information, and progressively build competence in modelling in line with Chartered’s framework. - Financial Plan Compilation
Assist in preparing comprehensive financial plans under supervision, ensuring technical accuracy, clear documentation, and alignment with Chartered standards. - Client Exposure and Relationship Development
Attend client meetings, prepare documentation, and gradually take on meeting components. Develop the interpersonal skills to engage clients confidently and clearly. - Implementation and Follow‑Through
Support the execution of recommendations by preparing documentation, coordinating with providers, and ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time. - Compliance and Professional Standards
Ensure all work meets legislative, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements, maintaining Chartered’s high standards of advice and documentation. - Continuous Learning and Personal Growth
Take ownership of your development through training, mentorship, feedback, and reflection, aligned to Chartered’s values and commitment to excellence. - Matric certificate
- BCom Honours in Financial Planning, or a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning (exceptional candidates currently studying towards this qualification will also be considered).
