As a trainee tax consultant working in KPMG’s Tax practice, it is innovation, judgment and expertise, together with problem-solving skills that can make a difference to our clients’ business strategies.

The Trainee Tax Consultant will form part of a team that is driven to deliver client-focused tax solutions and strives for excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral
Working as part of a team responsible for the delivery of Tax services, within a specific Business Unit, to South African and multinational businesses. The work required will differ, depending on the business unit the Trainee is assigned to.
- You will work as part of a team, where you will be allocated client responsibilities and will report to different senior team members, who will guide you and review your work, to ensure that we deliver the best quality to our clients.
BU-Specific
- Global Mobility Services – providing tax compliance and consulting assistance to corporate clients with local and global employee populations, to ensure that they remain compliant with individual and Employees’ Tax legislation;
- Corporate Tax – Assisting South African companies to structure their businesses and manage their tax obligations efficiently while managing tax risk.
- VAT – Managing the VAT requirements of South African corporates, advising multinationals and South African companies regarding application of the complexities of the legislation.

The Role (qualifications)
- Completing or completed BCom Honours in Taxation (ideal)
- BCom, LLB
- Other qualifications which include exposure to Tax and include an Honours degree will be considered
