Zenex Foundation
Programme Manager at the Zenex Foundation

This pivotal role is positioned at the intersection of strategy and execution and is responsible for translating Zenex’s strategy to conceptualising and supporting targeted interventions ensuring that programmes operate efficiently, align with strategy and deliver meaningful impact.
Zenex is looking for a candidate with considerable experience, maturity and skills in the broader education sector with a proven background in programme management.
Roles and Responsibilities- Initiate and assess programmes by developing terms of reference and drafting project proposals for Board consideration
- Develop and manage programme contracts and budgets
- Manage programme stakeholder relationships
- Appoint service providers for programme delivery and programme evaluation
- Monitor programmes for delivery and impact
- Provide input and content for thought leadership
- Influence and contribute towards Zenex’s strategic objectives
- Build Zenex’s influence and advocacy profile by representing Zenex at events and sector specific forums
- Detailed content knowledge of the education sector; particularly in literacy and language, mathematics, initial teacher training, in-service teacher training, with focus on the early grades.
- Good understanding of current education policy and key challenges facing the sector.
- At least 5 + years programme management experience in a non-profit or similar environment
- Honours or Master’s Degree in education or related field
- Knowledge of key stakeholders in the education sector, including government
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively
- Problem solving, analytical, interpretative skills
- Flexibility and ability to work in an environment without prescriptive protocols or manuals
- Familiarity with grant making
- Understanding of programme monitoring and evaluation
- A non-profit environment with exposure to education issues, working in programme management
- Ideally from within the education sector with an understanding of linguistics and its impact on successful mathematics outcomes.
