The Early Childhood Development (ECD) Practitioner will implement all curriculum lesson plans, manage the classroom and attend to all ECD administration work.

Programme Implementation:

  • Organize weekly teaching plan according to the curriculum lesson plan.
  • Request age appropriate resources to support the lesson plan.
  • Conduct daily teaching according to the curriculum lesson plan.
  • Identify children with learning barriers and elevate to the Principal.

Administration:

  • Attend staff meeting as per the invite from the Principal.
  • Attend parents’ meetings as per the invite.
  • Attend all internal workshops.
  • Accept and guide the beneficiaries.
  • Report monthly on beneficiaries’ performance and programme’s progress.
  • Support excursions by informing parents of all requirements.
  • Capture daily attendance registers of the learners.

Classroom Management:

  • Store learning and teaching support material safely at all times.
  • Set-up the learning environment according to the age groups.
  • Manage learner behaviour appropriately.
  • Maintain a safe and clean learning environment.
  • Educate learners on health and safety protocols to follow.
  • Handle emergency situations with care.

Qualification and

Experience:

  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • Teaching – minimum NQF level 4 Certificate in ECD.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience.

  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Multi task.
  • Prioritize workload.
  • Meet deadlines.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Accountability.
  • Fluent in at least two languages.
