Clinical Associate

Our client, a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon based in Johannesburg, is seeking to employ a full-time Clinical Associate.

We are looking for a motivated Clinical Associate to join a busy Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery practice. This is a hands-on role with involvement in every aspect of the practice, including patient assessments, theatre assistance, peri-operative care, follow-up, and day-to-day coordination of patient journeys.

• See and prepare patients before surgeon review (History, examination, optimisation)
• Support and coordinate the full patient journey (Enquiry consultation surgery follow-up)
• Consult with patients across all three practice offices
• Assist with clinical administration, documentation, and patient communication
• Theatre preparation and assistance
• Post-op reviews, wound care, dressings, drains, and early complication recognition
• Interpret investigations and support treatment planning
• Assist with ward rounds and wound clinics
• Liaise with referring doctors and provide referral feedback where appropriate
• Provide patient education, counselling, and escalation when required
• After-hours patient contact responsibility (queries, concerns, escalation to surgeon)
• Prescribing within scope and practice protocols

  Qualification:
  
  Bachelor of Clinical Medical Practice (BCMP)
• HPCSA valid registration
• A minimum of 2 years post-qualification clinical experience is essential
