Your Opportunity
As a Training Specialist, you will support and deliver the regional customer training strategy across Sub‑Saharan Africa. This role will require regular travel to customers. Working under the guidance of the Senior Training Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring customers gain maximum value from EBSCO products and services through engaging, accurate, and customer-focused training.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with customers and internal stakeholders, develop deep product expertise, and deliver training both online and onsite. You will contribute to training planning, content development, and continuous improvement, while acting as a strong advocate for customer needs and feedback.
What You'll Do- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of EBSCO products, services, and upcoming enhancements
- Support the creation and execution of a regional training plan in collaboration with Regional Sales Managers and the Senior Training Specialist
- Deliver high-quality online and onsite customer training sessions
- Respond to training requests from Sales, Customer Success, Customer Satisfaction teams, and direct customer enquiries
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver product training within an assigned geographic territory
- Customize training presentations and materials to meet the needs of different customer environments
- Track and report on training activities, providing monthly metrics on training frequency and quality
- Manage travel arrangements in line with company travel and expense guidelines
- Assist in creating and translating customer success resources such as help sheets, tutorials, presentations, lesson plans, and train-the-trainer materials
- Gather and share customer feedback to support product enhancements and continuous improvement
- You are fluent in spoken and written English
- You have at least 2 years’ experience delivering training in a professional environment
- You are a confident communicator with strong presentation and facilitation skills
- You are highly organized with excellent time-management and planning abilities
- You have experience working in a customer-facing or customer support role
- You understand instructional evaluation methods and how to measure training effectiveness
- You are technically adept and quick to learn new systems and tools, particularly for online training delivery
- The successful candidate for this role must be based in South Africa
