Position: Creative/ Copy Writer (specialising in radio and audio)

Location: Rosebank, Johannesburg

Type: Full-time

Compensation: Competitive salary

Reports to: General Manager

Level: Mid

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualise and write live and recorded commercials, promotions, and campaign concepts for clients for radio and audio led solutions.
  • Translate client briefs and strategic requirements into compelling creative solutions for radio and audio.
  • Conceptualise and craft highly engaging social media and digital content to support audio led campaigns.
  • Write and develop scripted radio and audio content, including radio drama series, character bibles, and episode synopses.
  • Direct voice-overs in studio for recording of radio commercials, working closely with the talent and our sound engineers.
  • Contribute to brainstorm sessions, generating creative ideas and campaign strategies.
  • Develop radio station promotions that align with brand strategy and listener engagement objectives.
  • Write material for Media Heads
    360’s marketing collateral and internal campaigns.
  • Identify and apply emerging creative trends and cultural insights to client work.
  • Take ownership of creative projects, managing concepts from ideation through to final delivery.
  • Present creative ideas and underlying strategic thinking to clients when required.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure cohesive, high-quality output.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a creative or copywriting role within radio (a must have!), advertising, marketing, or media.
  • Demonstrated experience in concept development and copywriting across radio, digital, and integrated campaigns.
  • Ability to handle multi-element, multi-platform campaigns requiring conceptual thinking and coordination, predominantly in the radio space.
  • Proven understanding of audience behaviour, brand positioning, and storytelling within the radio realm.
  • Experience working with voice-over talent and audio production is advantageous.
  • Excellent writing skills - creative, original, and strategically sound.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who speak and understand two or more African languages, particularly Ndebele, Sotho, Swati, Setswana, Tsonga, Venda, Pedi, Zulu, or Xhosa.
  • Highly proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and other creative presentation tools.
  • Must attach portfolio of previous work done, which includes, a radio script and a client concept.

Education

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Creative Writing, Copywriting, Communications, Media, or Marketing.
  • Additional qualifications or short courses in digital content creation will be an advantage.
