Position: Product & Pricing Manager (Geely Brand

The Product & Pricing Manager is responsible for planning, steering and optimising the full automotive product portfolio for the Geely Auto South African subsidiary. This role ensures that the right vehicles are selected, priced, and positioned competitively to drive profitability, market share and customer appeal. The incumbent thus acts as the focal point between the global OEM, internal teams, and the dealer network to translate brand strategy into commercially viable products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management
    • Analyse local market trends and research analysis that may be carried out, consumer insights and competitor activity to define product positioning and lifecycle plans.
    • Develop annual and mid-term product roadmap recommendations across passenger vehicles, SUVs and EVs.
    • Lead product launch readiness including specs alignment, pricing strategy, features and product communications.
    • Own vehicle lifecycle actions: introductions, product updates (MCM), limited editions, and run-out planning.
  • Pricing & Profitability
    • Develop pricing strategies balancing competitiveness, brand positioning and profitability targets.
    • Produce price build-ups, retail pricing structures, cost changes, exchange rate impacts and margin simulations.
    • Monitor transaction price performance and recommend tactical programs (retail offers, GFV, finance support) aligned to business objectives.
    • Work with finance to track and drive model contribution margins.
  • Market, Competitor & Volume Planning
    • Provide monthly volume and mix forecasts with demand assumptions.
    • Analyse performance vs. budget and identify corrective opportunities.
    • Conduct regular benchmarking of specs, price ladders and customer value propositions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Interface with OEM headquarters on product availability, specification alignment and homologation requirements.
    • Partner with marketing, sales, fleet, aftersales and dealer development to ensure full commercial alignment.
    • Support dealer network with product training materials and value messaging.
  • Regulatory & Compliance
    • Understand and track local homologation requirements and regulatory shifts (e.g. safety, emissions, EV policy).
    • Ensure product configurations comply with South African standards and government frameworks.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or relevant experience with proven track record.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in automotive product, pricing, commercial planning roles.
  • Experience with OEM or automotive distributor strongly preferred.
  • Solid financial acumen and comfort with pricing models, cost structures and exchange rate impact.
  • Strong analytical capability with ability to turn data into strategic actions.
Skills & Attributes
  • Market-led mindset with strong understanding of South African automotive dynamics.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and alignment ability.
  • Detail-oriented with commercial instinct.
  • Self-starter capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Excel modelling;
    Powerpoint presentations, dashboard/reporting exposure advantageous.
  • Must be proficient using Lightstone and similar analysis tools.
  • Collaborative, curious, adaptable to a fast-moving industry.
