Job Description & How to Apply Below

Position: Senior Training Facilitator

Sector: Corporate Training – Service, Sales, Core job & interpersonal skills

Work Location: Johannesburg (Client Site and Virtual)

Position Overview

This is an ideal role for a mid-late career executive (former VP and the like) who believes passionately in the power of relationships, not just to drive business results, but also to make the world a better place.

GPT has active relationships and is chasing multi-year deals with large multinationals for training services in a wide array of countries in EMEA, APAC and the Americas. The company is seeking to expand its training capacity by locating qualified facilitators, to whom the company will provide complete training and onboarding.

This is a part-time project-driven role, and availability for GPT work with reasonable advance notice of facilitation opportunities is required. This is a non-salaried contract position, and so the candidate should have an entrepreneurial mindset and background. Once a facilitation project is identified, the candidate must plan initially to spend several hours, sometimes a few days, to engage with the onboarding & train-the-trainer process.

While there is no cash cost for candidate to engage (GPT invests in the onboarding & train-the-trainer process), candidate must have the financial capacity that allows time for onboarding before facilitation work can ramp to provide income.

Candidate will ideally have a mature and well-rounded business background culminating as a VP or equivalent in service operations, sales, project management or learning and development in a B2B environment. Former training facilitation experience is desirable but is not required. Experience with professional coaching is a plus. Candidate should be very comfortable leading highly interactive sessions in both face-to-face and virtual formats.

Candidate will need to demonstrate a clear understanding of the application of training to business objectives, combined with the persistence and patience to maintain communications with trainees and bring out the best in each person. Candidate will also have strong references attesting attention to detail, imperative for executing multi-event training logistics.

Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of learning GPT program(s) fully and fluently, including watching videos, practicing solo, doing training dry-runs, responding positively to feedback, learning required technical aspects, executing required logistics, and keeping up with updates.
  • Adhere to GPT policies regarding facilitation work, including timely logistics requirements and data security, as stated in the contract as well as on the company’s internal website.
  • Support training groups, managers, sponsors and trainees in such a manner as to maintain every client as a referenceable account.
  • Professionally introduce and represent the company to prospects, clients and partners. (optional)
  • Provide regular and meaningful insights to GPT regarding training observations, new sales opportunities and potential competition.
  • Support GPT peers in developing a culture of empathy, customer focus, team spirit and fun that values mutual success and the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Balance assertiveness with being an excellent team player.
Requirements
  • 15+ years in relevant senior management role(s) that gives insight into industry, corporate training and prospective trainees.
  • Strong understanding of the application of corporate training to achieve business results.
  • Desired track record of facilitation in face-to-face and virtual formats or the ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the customer:
    Technical, L&D, Financial and Executive.
  • Strong ability to facilitate training programs in English and the working local language(s) in your region.
  • Comfortable using technical systems, such as video-conferencing software, digital collaboration platforms, face-to-face systems such as laptop/projector interface, as well as CRM, LMS and other company information systems.
  • Exceptional empathy, interpersonal, writing and presentation skills.
  • Proactivity and thriving in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Autonomy and ability to get the job done without being prompted while managing local engagements.
  • Balancing ambition and drive with a high level of integrity.
  • Fun to be around, personable!
