Senior Fund Accountant - Hedge Funds

The Senior Fund Accountant will prepare accurate portfolio valuations on a timely basis.

You will be responsible for the accounting of 5-7 portfolios, maintain underlying records, assist with reviews, deputize as supervisor when needed.

Prepare weekly and monthly portfolio valuations.

Maintain the underlying accounting records for assigned funds (domestic, offshore, hedge funds, partnerships).

Liaise with fund managers, brokers and custodians to communicate information and resolve issues on a timely basis.

Reconcile brokerage and custodian accounts to underlying records.

Conform to standard operating procedures.

Establish excellent client relationships and provide a quality service at all times.

Assist external auditors to ensure the audit function is executed on a timely and efficient basis.

Perform additional responsibilities as required by the Supervisor.

Responsible for fund accounting, pricing, manual Excel NAV file verification roll-forward, security position and price review, cash and interest reconciliation, and reporting.

Commerce degree or diploma with at least Financial Accounting 2.

At least eighteen months accounting experience.

Proficient in MS Excel.

Hedge-fund industry knowledge.

Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
