Bookkeeper

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full bookkeeping function up to trial balance
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Manage supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations
• Prepare bank, creditor, and debtor reconciliations
• Maintain accurate general ledger entries
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Support payroll processing and related reconciliations (where applicable)
• Maintain financial records in compliance with company policies and statutory requirements
• Liaise with auditors, accountants, and other external service providers

• Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification (certificate or diploma)
• Minimum 25 years bookkeeping experience (manufacturing environment advantageous)
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping to trial balance
• Experience with VAT calculations and submissions
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Pastel, Sage, or similar)
• Strong Excel skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

• Experience with in manufacturing, engineering, or mining-related industries
• Exposure to stock control and cost accounting
• Payroll processing experience
