Sr. System Development Engineer, AWS Cross Domain Services

Overview

The AWS Cross Domain Services team is seeking a Systems Development Engineer who is passionate about operational excellence. This engineer will help to operate and scale the services that connect AWS regions of differing security requirements. An Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) is a collection of AWS regions provided for a customer with specific security requirements. The AWS Cross Domain Services team provides solutions for customers to move data between regions with differing security requirements.

• Shape the development of infrastructure foundational services, write tools and services to improve automation for deployment and releases, build and maintain test fleets, perform functional and regression testing on software, define and perform stress testing, and monitor production software.
• Operate, automate, and troubleshoot complex systems in partnership with software developer peers.
• Operate and engineer systems on a massive scale and grow automation skills; contribute to continuous improvement for customers.

• Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
• 5+ years of programming in at least one modern language (e.g., C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, Power Shell, Ruby)
• 4+ years of experience deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment
• 4+ years designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) including software development, operations, automation, and process improvement
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

• 5+ years of development/programming/scripting in Python, Java, Bash, or Perl
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations
• Experience taking a leading role in building complex software or computing infrastructure delivered to customers
• Experience leading the design, build, and deployment of complex and performant software solutions in production
