Lab View Programmer / Controls Engineer at Aerolab
Job DescriptionAerolab is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Lab View Programmer / Controls Engineer position. The candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, supporting ongoing engineering projects and developing software and programming for wind tunnel control systems in an extremely fast-paced aerospace environment. Day-to-day tasks include configuring and programming NI hardware and software that controls wind tunnels and instrumentation, troubleshooting control software, generating detailed software documentation, reviewing source code, participating in peer reviews, installing, maintaining, and testing laboratory electronics and instrumentation.
This role requires a technical and self‑motivated individual who is trustworthy, detail‑oriented, has excellent communication skills, exhibits a high degree of corporate maturity, is committed to production uptime and data integrity with little oversight, and is willing to assume work accountability.

- Minimum 4 years in real-time embedded control
- Minimum 4 years of on-the-job experience
- Programming skills:
LabVIEW, ANSI C, Java, C++, Matlab, Microsoft Office, and various system software control architecture - Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self‑starter who can work with minimal supervision
- Creative thinking and ideas to advance business performance
- Provide technical support to customers
BS in Software Engineering, BSCS (Computer Science), BSCE (Computer Engineering), B.S.E.E. (Bachelors of Electrical Engineering), or related field with 7‑10 years of on‑the‑job work experience.
Location and TravelTravel is expected at approximately 50% of the time; when not traveling, the position is based at Aerolab headquarters in Jessup, MD.
