Location: On-Site — Maryland / Virginia Region (Travel Required)

Position Overview

The Reality Capture Business Development Manager is a high-energy, sales-driven leader responsible for expanding RPG Squarefoot Solutions’ Reality Capture Division through new client acquisition, revenue growth, and management of field operations. This role combines strategic sales execution with hands‑on team leadership
, overseeing the Reality Capture Field Technician to ensure seamless delivery of 3D scanning projects and exceptional customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is a motivated hunter, fast learner, and creative problem‑solver who thrives on driving results, building relationships, and translating complex technology into real‑world business solutions for AEC, construction, and government clients.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth

  • Proactively develop and close new business to achieve quarterly and annual revenue goals.
  • Manage the full sales cycle for 3D scanning equipment, rentals, training, and project-based services.
  • Prospect and develop new client relationships within AEC, construction, and government sectors.
  • Conduct discovery meetings, deliver product demos, and present value-driven proposals.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on lead generation campaigns, webinars, and events.
  • Maintain a disciplined sales pipeline and accurate forecasting through Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM.

Field Operations & Project Oversight

  • Directly manage the Reality Capture Field Technician
    , providing leadership, scheduling, and performance guidance.
  • Oversee project execution from capture through data delivery, ensuring technical accuracy and client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate staffing, logistics, and quality control for field assignments.
  • Ensure field team readiness through training on new equipment, software, and safety procedures.
  • Partner with Operations and Service teams to manage equipment inventory, calibration, and deployment.

Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Identify new opportunities for growth within target industries and emerging technologies.
  • Develop strategic relationships with Leica, Matterport, HP, and related vendors to enhance RPG’s offerings.
  • Represent RPG at industry events, conferences, and customer sites to promote brand visibility.
  • Provide feedback to management on market trends, pricing strategy, and competitive activity.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build long‑term partnerships by delivering consultative, value-based solutions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring a high level of service and responsiveness.
  • Cross‑sell related products and services to increase account penetration and recurring revenue.
  • Manage post‑sale support, training, and customer follow‑up to drive satisfaction and referrals.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, construction management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of proven B2B sales experience
    , ideally in technology, AEC, or capital equipment industries.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing field or technical staff.
  • Demonstrated success as a hunter in building pipeline, closing deals, and exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
  • Highly motivated self‑starter with strong organizational and strategic thinking skills.
  • Fast learner capable of understanding complex technology and translating it into customer value.
  • Must be based in or able to work on‑site within Maryland and Virginia, with regional travel required.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Leica BLK
    360/BLK2GO, Matterport Pro3, HP Site Print, or similar 3D scanning technologies.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk, Revit, Cyclone, or Cloud Worx software.
  • Experience managing 3D scanning or field operations teams.
  • Understanding of GSA or government contracting processes.
