Full‑time Transportation Assistant
We have a new opportunity for a full‑time Transportation Assistant!
ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Transportation Coordinator, the Transportation Assistant is responsible for the safety and well‑being of participants while being transported in Lutheran Senior LIFE vehicles.
This position also has the opportunity to drive our participants if interested and qualified.
Basic Qualifications- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience with assisting the elderly or frail population
- Holds current MAVT and/or CPR certifications (preferred)
- Able to read and understand maps and routing information to navigate within the Hudson County area.
- Able to handle information in a confidential manner at all times.
- Professional and diplomatic interpersonal skills.
- Experience in transporting individuals with special mobility needs.
- Flexible and able to function in stressful situations.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with participants, caregivers, and co‑workers.
- Proficient in identifying and recommending problem resolution.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Corrected vision and hearing within normal range, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum of 1 year working with the frail or elderly.
CompetencyPosition specific competencies for Transportation Escorts will be met prior to assuming participant care.
Medical ClearanceEmployees must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up‑to‑date immunizations before having direct participants contact.
