A leading Northeast litigation law firm is seeking a mid-level Associate Attorney to join its New Jersey civil litigation team. This role offers a strong opportunity for an attorney who is ready to take ownership of cases, work closely with experienced partners, and grow within a collaborative and supportive firm environment.
This position is ideal for litigators with solid civil litigation experience who are looking for increased responsibility, hands-on courtroom exposure, and long-term professional development across a diverse range of practice areas, including general liability, construction litigation, employment and labor, and workers’ compensation.
Responsibilities- Manage civil litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda.
- Appear at and prepare for depositions, hearings, and trials in New Jersey state and federal courts.
- Conduct legal research and assist in developing litigation strategies.
- Take and defend fact witness and expert depositions.
- Collaborate closely with partners, senior attorneys, clients, and experts.
- Provide regular updates and strategic guidance to clients regarding case status and developments.
- Ensure compliance with deadlines and maintain high standards of legal advocacy.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active New Jersey Bar admission in good standing.
- 4–7 years of civil litigation experience.
- Experience practicing in New Jersey state and federal courts.
- Strong advocacy skills, including drafting and arguing dispositive motions.
- Proficiency in legal research, discovery, and deposition practice.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Meaningful case ownership with direct client interaction.
- Hands-on litigation and courtroom experience.
