Overview
The Senior Oracle SQL/PLSQL Developer will be responsible for converting and modernizing existing Mainframe SAS-based processes into optimized Oracle SQL/PLSQL solutions. This role involves analyzing legacy SAS workflows, designing corresponding Oracle data-processing logic, and ensuring efficient, accurate migration of complex business processes to the Oracle platform.
In addition, the developer will support the creation and enhancement of a Java-based user interface to facilitate ongoing process maintenance. The position requires close collaboration with the technology manager for status reporting and project updates, while maintaining minimal direct client interaction.
The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in Oracle SQL/PLSQL, knowledge of SAS or COBOL on the mainframe, and working knowledge of Python for automation or data handling. Familiarity with JIRA for task tracking and Agile workflows is preferred. The developer is expected to demonstrate strong ownership, deliver high quality work within agreed timelines, collaborate effectively with team members, and provide support to the broader team as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Convert and migrate legacy Mainframe SAS processes to Oracle SQL/PLSQL.
- Analyze existing Mainframe SAS workflows and redesign logic for Oracle-based execution.
- Collaborate with the technology manager for reporting, planning, and delivery oversight.
- Ensure accuracy, performance, and reliability of Oracle-based solutions.
- Utilize Python as needed for automation, data processing, or migration tasks.
- Use JIRA for work management within an Agile or hybrid environment.
- Support team members and contribute to a collaborative, delivery-focused environment.
- Strong expertise in Oracle SQL and PLSQL development.
- Experience with Mainframe SAS.
- Working proficiency with Python.
