As a Regulated Messaging Engineer (NJ/NC), you will be part of the Compliance Technology Department supporting the Messaging Compliance team. We are seeking an experienced Regulated Messaging Engineer to join a global compliance and messaging technology team. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing support of regulated messaging and electronic communication compliance platforms in highly regulated environments.
The position focuses on Electronic Compliance and Retention Governance, ensuring secure, reliable, and compliant message capture, archiving, and retention across multiple communication channels. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Proofpoint Enterprise Archive and experience supporting regulated messaging platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Symphony, and Bloomberg.
In addition to engineering responsibilities, this role will contribute to program and project management, coordinating complex initiatives, migrations, and stakeholder communications across geographically distributed teams.
Key Responsibilities- Design, deploy, and support regulated messaging solutions meeting global compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and maintain Electronic Compliance and Retention Governance frameworks for messaging and email platforms.
- Configure, test, and administer Proofpoint Enterprise Archive, including policy management, retention, and compliance controls.
- Integrate messaging compliance solutions with platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Symphony, and Bloomberg.
- Lead or support complex platform migrations, upgrades, and onboarding efforts.
- Ensure adherence to security, change management, and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical leadership and contribute to architecture documentation and solution design.
- Communicate program status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including compliance, security, legal, and infrastructure.
- 10+ years of experience delivering technology solutions in regulated environments.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Proofpoint Enterprise Archive (archiving, retention, compliance policy management).
- Solid understanding of Electronic Compliance and Retention Governance concepts and regulatory drivers.
- Scripting proficiency (Python preferred) and experience navigating MSSQL databases.
- Exposure to cloud technologies and compliance‑related services.
- Demonstrated program or project management experience, including cross‑team coordination.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Visio and intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
- Proofpoint Enterprise Archive (excluding Email DLP, Encryption, Email Fraud Defense, or Enterprise DLP products)
- Microsoft Teams – Compliance Recording
- Symphony Compliance Platform
- Bloomberg Chat and Email Compliance
- SMTP Forwarding
- Global Relay or similar electronic communication archiving platforms
