Overview
The Controls Technology Lead will own and drive the end-to-end technology book of work serving the Chief Operating Office (COO). This role is responsible for portfolio planning, prioritization, delivery governance, funding stewardship, risk & controls alignment, and value realization across COO strategic initiatives (e.g., operations automation, risk & controls tooling, workforce enablement, operational analytics, and process digitization). The ideal candidate blends portfolio leadership, delivery execution, and stakeholder management—translating COO business outcomes into a clear, executable roadmap with measurable impact.
We want to invest in a strategic technology advisor for everything that is architecture and risk and who can take an enterprise view. They must come with an advisory background to advise the Controls business.
Someone who has simplified and consolidated technology in the Controls space and managed teams of 80-100 is the background we are after.
ResponsibilitiesEstablish and maintain the multi-year technology roadmap aligned to COO strategy, enterprise architecture, finance, and risk mandates.
Run the annual planning and quarterly reprioritization cycles: intake, scoping, sizing, dependency mapping, funding alignment, and sequencing.
Lead cross-functional delivery across engineering, product, architecture, cyber, risk & compliance, data, and business operations.
Drive SDLC/SDLC-adjacent governance (requirements, design reviews, testing strategy, change management) and ensure production readiness.
Resolve impediments, manage dependencies and critical paths, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
Act as the primary technology point of contact for COO leadership; provide executive-ready updates and steerco materials.
Facilitate Steering Committees, Portfolio Review Boards, and Architecture Review Board engagements.
Align with enterprise partners (Finance, HR, Legal, Procurement, Vendor Management, Enterprise Architecture) to accelerate delivery.
Identify and deliver AI‑driven and automation opportunities across COO operations, including generative AI, predictive analytics, workflow intelligence, and robotic process automation (RPA).
Drive efficiency programs, targeting measurable improvements in cycle time, accuracy, throughput, and cost-to-serve.
