Job Description:
Paramint LLC is seeking a Data & AI Strategy Consultant to support the Engineering Solutions group of a large public-sector transportation and infrastructure organization. You will lead Data and AI strategy for an engineering-focused department: defining data governance, shaping AI adoption and governance, driving staff upskilling, and building a roadmap to move the organization up the data maturity curve. This is a high-impact, part-time (4 days/week) consulting role with strong executive visibility and the potential to transition into a full-time position.
- Develop a Data Governance Strategy to support the agency’s digital transformation, including policies, standards, and processes.
- Design an AI Strategy focused on AI adoption, AI governance, staff upskilling, and responsible AI.
- Assess current Data Maturity across the organization and build a clear, staged roadmap to reach target maturity levels.
- Embed Responsible AI principles into the vision and roadmap; help drive culture change toward innovation and experimentation.
- Create a curation process for AI innovations and pilots across the organization.
- Define and implement an AI Governance Risk Assessment process the organization can adopt.
- Identify the people, processes, and technologies needed to develop, deploy, and operate AI solutions in an engineering context.
- Plan and manage Data Governance initiatives from discovery and baseline assessment through delivery, knowledge capture, and handoff.
- Collaborate closely with technical teams to ensure the department’s Data & AI strategy aligns with broader agency AI strategy.
- Tackle complex information and technology problems as part of wider consulting engagements; design and implement solutions that demonstrate measurable value to the department.
- Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders; identify opportunities for efficiency, collaboration, and return on investment.
- Plan and assign project work to ensure timely delivery and effective use of resources.
- Facilitate working groups and workshops to gather requirements and drive change, using interviews, document analysis, process mapping, and business analysis techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Engineering, Data/Computer Science, or a related field; master’s degree highly desirable.
- 3+ years leading AI strategy and executing AI initiatives in large organizations (not just building models, but shaping adoption and governance).
- 5+ years of experience working in or for an engineering, design, or construction company, with a solid understanding of the tools, workflows, and business needs of this industry.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure AI / Azure data and storage platforms and tools.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to leadership and facilitating workshops.
- Self‑motivated, able to prioritize multiple initiatives, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
Onsite role in Jersey City, NJ (NY/NJ metro area). Part‑time: 4 days per week, Monday–Friday, standard business hours. The role may transition to a full‑time position based on performance and program needs.
