Job Summary

BNY is seeking a Reconciliation Analyst to join the Broker Dealer Regulatory Reporting team. This role will support the preparation of daily and weekly regulatory reports, including the 15c3-3 Customer Reserve computation, while performing detailed reconciliations, data analysis, and exception investigation. The role is based in Jersey City, NJ, with an onsite expectation of 4 days per week. This position is highly Excel-driven and requires a detail-oriented professional who can manipulate large datasets, identify anomalies, and operate effectively in a deadline-driven regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Reserve Reporting (15c3-3):
    Assist in the preparation of daily 15c3-3 customer reserve computations, including aggregating data and performing required calculations.
  • Data Extraction & Analysis:
    Extract, analyze, and interpret large datasets to ensure reporting accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconciliations & Validation:
    Conduct complex reconciliations across broker dealer and bank balance sheet data, identifying discrepancies and validating outputs.
  • Trend & Variance Analysis:
    Perform in-depth analytical research to identify trends and anomalies and prepare management-level commentary on variances.
  • Root Cause Investigation:
    Prepare detailed root cause analyses, develop recommendations, elevate issues when appropriate, and support remediation efforts.
  • Regulatory Reporting Rotation:
    Participate in a reporting rotation that may include 15c3-1 Net Capital, FOCUS reporting, Treasury International Capital (TIC), Basel III, FR-Y9C, and FR-2052a.
  • Process Improvement & Automation Testing:
    Support ongoing automation initiatives by preparing and reviewing test cases, conducting reconciliation testing, and validating system implementations.
  • Policy & Procedure Maintenance:
    Assist in developing and enhancing regulatory reporting policies and procedures to ensure continued compliance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    Work closely with data providers, management, and other stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and streamline reporting workflows.
Qualifications
  • 5–10 years of experience in financial services.
  • Experience with in broker dealer or bank regulatory reporting environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, pivot tables, advanced data manipulation).
  • Experience compiling, comparing, and reconciling large datasets.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize under tight regulatory deadlines.
  • Risk awareness and ability to elevate issues appropriately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related financial discipline.
Preferred Experience
  • Broker dealer or bank regulatory reporting experience.
  • Exposure to 15c3-1, 15c3-3, FOCUS, Basel III, FR-Y9C, or FR-2052a reporting.
  • Experience supporting automation initiatives or performing UAT/testing.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or Power Query.
  • Experience enhancing or building dashboards.
