Individual within this role will be part of Client Tax Operations (CTO). The CTO's core functions are:

1) Quality Assurance (QA):
Added control layer supporting CTO functions through testing of production activity across the end-to-end tax ops lifecycle for the firm's Retail, Institutional, and Stock Plan business lines. The QA proactively validates Tax Compliance with U.S. Tax Regulations and certain international tax regulations.

2) Governance & Training coordination:
This includes the Responsible Officer (RO) IRS Compliance Program which is a multi-faceted governance program designed to oversee the firm's non-U.S. entities compliance with various U.S. tax regimes and regulations and, ensure triennial certifications and periodic reviews are performed with effective internal controls.

The responsibilities of the role will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

  • Performing documentation, withholding and reporting testing and evaluation of Tax Operations processes and firm systems
  • Participating in the review and improvement of controls that impact the firm's ability to comply with documentation, withholding and information reporting regulations
  • Compiling metrics/senior management updates to report on results and status of testing
  • Reviewing procedure documentation with an Audit/Risk viewpoint, including identifying and soliciting materials to assess/evidence line team adherence to their own procedures
  • Testing whether Tax Ops procedures and processes are in alignment with updates to rules and regulations
  • Maintenance of OTC Procedures
  • Assist with strategic initiatives to improve processes, ad-hoc projects
  • Assist with coordinating delivery of departmental training

Required Experience and Skills

  • 3-5 years of Financial Services Experience with 1-2 years of Chapter 3 (NRA), Chapter 4 (FATCA) and/or chapter 61 (Back-up Withholding)
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
  • A solid work ethic
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • A risk and compliance mindset
  • An advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience with desktop automation solutions (e.g. Altery, Power

    BI, UI Path) a plus
