Our client is a top-tier Bank, and the ideal candidate will lead data governance for historical market data supporting VaR and SVaR calculations, partner with risk managers and technology teams to improve risk management processes and support design, testing, and monitoring of market risk models and processes.

Quantitative Analyst Description

We are seeking a Senior Quantitative Financial Analyst with strong technical and analytical skills to manage large datasets and lead data governance for historical market data used in calculating Value at Risk (VaR),
Stressed VaR (SVaR), and other critical market risk metrics.

This role involves close collaboration with Market Risk Methodology
, Line of Business Risk Managers
, and Technology teams to enhance risk management capabilities and support the implementation, testing, and rollout of VaR/S-VaR models.

Responsibilities
  • Lead data governance for historical market data supporting VaR and SVaR calculations.
  • Partner with risk managers and technology teams to improve risk management processes.
  • Support design, testing, and monitoring of market risk models and processes.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of market risk models and system requirements.
  • Communicate portfolio impact analysis and process changes to stakeholders.
  • Provide oversight on quantitative risk implications of regulatory changes and new products.
  • Enhance market risk models to reflect evolving business environments.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • 7–10 years in quantitative financial analysis or related roles.
  • Technical

    Skills:

  • Advanced understanding of mathematical principles underlying risk models.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for financial time series analysis.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Knowledge:
  • Market data infrastructure, data flows, and risk systems.
  • Key risk drivers at product, business, and firm-wide levels.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Ability to provide pragmatic solutions and innovative thinking.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with risk managers and stakeholders.
Additional Notes
  • Candidates must be comfortable with operational aspects of Market Risk, including design, testing, and monitoring processes.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) may be advantageous if supporting Mexico transactions.
