Job DescriptionThe position requires a deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting regulations, the ability to lead financial accounting aspects of transactions, and strong communication skills to convey the impact of new rules to senior management.
Responsibilities- Evaluate new U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting regulations as they are issued and effectively communicate the ramifications to senior management.
- Lead financial accounting aspects of transaction acquisitions, including due diligence reviews, purchase accounting, and collaboration with valuation specialists and other finance teams.
- Review key contracts to evaluate accounting treatment and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Provide support to all operating and corporate divisions on accounting issues, including impairment assessments, divestitures, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other matters.
- Evaluate and interpret key accounting transactions related to hedging activities, financing transactions, impairments, asset acquisitions, and share‑based compensation.
- Document acquisition white papers to support key judgments and coordinate requests and meetings with stakeholders.
- Lead implementation efforts related to proposed accounting standards, coordinating meetings with stakeholders to discuss impacts.
- Establish, maintain and document the company’s standard accounting practices and procedures; develop and present training materials related to compliance as needed.
- Manage documentation of internal controls over the technical accounting process.
- Assist with other ad‑hoc special projects as deemed necessary.
- BS/BA degree in Accounting required.
- A minimum of seven to ten years of U.S. GAAP and SEC technical accounting or related experience.
- Ability to cope with changing priorities and work under rigid time schedules.
- Certified Public Accountant.
- Big 4 experience.
