Operations Intermediate Specialist – FX Confirmations

The Operations Intermediate Specialist – FX Confirmations is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely confirmation of foreign exchange (FX) transactions. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and strong communication skills to resolve discrepancies, liaise with internal teams, and ensure that all trades are confirmed and escalated appropriately. The successful candidate will play a key role in reducing settlement risk by ensuring only confirmed trades proceed to currency settlements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Confirm all client and counter party FX transactions within 24 hours of trade execution.
  • Identify and escalate unconfirmed trades to the appropriate parties within the same timeframe.
  • Collaborate with the Settlements group to ensure only confirmed trades proceed to settlement.
  • Maintain accurate records of confirmations and follow up on outstanding issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies by liaising with clients, counter parties, and internal teams.
  • Proactively identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
    • Qualifications:
  • BS/BA degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 6 to 12 months of experience in FX Operations, Derivatives, or related Financial Services (preferred but not essential).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
