Assistant Teaching Artist (Early Childhood Drama) DESCRIPTION

Story Builders is a growing arts education company that offers imaginative, story‑building drama classes to families in the Jersey City and Hoboken area.

We’re looking for an Assistant Teaching Artist to join us for our Winter Session (January–February) with the possibility of continuing into the Spring. This role is for teaching artists and/or early childhood educators who love storytelling and creative play, and have experience working with children ages 3‑6. You should be excited to jump into stories, make bold and silly choices, while knowing how to set clear boundaries and guide collaborative work.

• Mondays, 4:00‑5:00 pm (ages 3‑6) in Jersey City
• Tuesdays, 5:15‑6:00 pm (ages 3‑6) in Jersey City
• Wednesdays, 4:45‑6:00 pm (ages 4‑6) in Jersey City

* There may be occasional opportunities to fill extra floater/sub hours outside these scheduled classes.

• Support the lead teacher in building imaginative adventures with the children
• Help kids stay engaged
• Be silly, bold, and fully present
• Help children explore their creativity while staying safe and focused
• Be a collaborative, responsive, and enthusiastic presence in the classroom

• Teaching artists who have worked with young children (ages 3–6)
• Early childhood educators who love storytelling and creative play
• People who are reliable, punctual, curious, playful, and respectful of children and their incredible creative powers
• Collaborative, observant, and attentive to both kids and co‑teachers
