Overview
Job Description We are searching for an Inventory Planning Associate to play a critical role in managing omnichannel inventory to support profitable growth across our apparel client’s DTC, wholesale, and marketplace channels. This role partners closely with Planning, Sales, Operations, and Production to optimize inventory flow between buys and real-time channel momentum, ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time.
This position is responsible for in-season inventory management, allocation and replenishment, and for maintaining accurate product setup and merchandise attribution within Net Suite. The Inventory Planning Associate also supports purchase order management, helping to ensure timely, accurate execution aligned with demand forecasts and business priorities.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced fashion environment, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational execution.
Responsibilities- Inventory Management:
Own allocation and inventory replenishment for Amazon, ensuring optimal availability, sell-through, and compliance with channel requirements - Manage in-season omnichannel inventory across DTC, wholesale, and marketplace channels to support sales demand and margin goals
- Monitor weeks of supply, sell-through, and inventory health; recommend rebalancing actions between channels as demand shifts
- Support inventory optimization between original buys and real-time channel performance
- Assist with purchase order lifecycle management, including tracking receipts, delivery timing, and quantity adjustments
- Partner with Operations and Logistics to resolve inventory discrepancies and ensure accurate on-hand inventory
- Support the Planning team with in-season inventory flow adjustments
- Maintain accurate merchandise setup, attribution, and product coding within Net Suite to enable clean reporting and planning visibility
- Assist in managing channel inventory targets and tracking performance against plans
- Prepare weekly and monthly planning recaps, highlighting risks, opportunities, and action items
- Analyze sales, inventory, and performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across channels
- Ensure data integrity across systems by auditing merchandise attributes, inventory positions, and PO data
- Support ad hoc analysis to inform allocation decisions, reorder needs, and channel optimization
- Leverage data to improve visibility into inventory performance and support data-driven decision making
- Inventory is optimized across channels, with timely rebalancing between DTC, wholesale, and Amazon that supports sales demand while minimizing excess and stockouts
- Clear and proactive communication with cross-functional partners ensuring all teams are aligned on risks, opportunities, and execution priorities
- Data and systems accuracy enable better decisions, with clean Net Suite merchandise setup, accurate inventory positions, and reliable reporting used by Planning and cross-functional partners
- In-season planning and PO execution run smoothly, with proactive identification of risks and opportunities and clear communication with relevant teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Merchandising, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in inventory planning, merchandise planning, allocation, or a related retail planning role
- Experience managing or supporting omnichannel inventory across DTC, wholesale, and/or marketplace channels (Amazon experience a plus)
- Strong understanding of in-season inventory management, including sell-through, weeks of supply, and inventory flow
- Hands-on experience with Net Suite or similar ERP systems, including merchandise setup, attribution, and product coding
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic modeling); experience with planning or BI tools a plus
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong cross-functional communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with Planning, Sales, Operations, Marketing, and Production teams
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and take ownership
Salary Range $80-90K
