Our client, a high-growth private equity real estate firm, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. In this role, you’ll support day-to-day portfolio accounting with a primary focus on AP and AR. You’ll assist the Senior Accountants by preparing journal entries and jumping in on month-end close and project work as needed.
Responsibilities
- Post and apply cash receipts in the ERP and support day-to-day management of open receivables
- Review vendor invoices with internal stakeholders to confirm accurate coding, approvals, and proper cost allocation
- Monitor payables workflow alerts, and void/reissue payments as needed to resolve exceptions
- Record ACH and other electronic payment activity and maintain complete, well-supported payment documentation
- Reconcile account balances, research variances, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Assist with month-end close support, ad hoc reporting/variance analysis, and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of related accounting experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and vlookups
- Hands-on experience with Yardi is preferred
