The Vacation Relief Operator is a key member of the production team. This individual is responsible for system efficiencies, operation of manufacturing equipment, and cleaning and maintaining the production process equipment. This position assists the Production Supervisor’s in the development and training of team members, as assigned. This position also is essentially the supervisor training position for IMP. This candidate will eventually learn all equipment from receiving to the warehouse, so they can efficiently cover any and all vacation requests, with continued education on the management side of the business.

- Fills in for other employees and supervisors while they are on vacation or out on personal time.
- Demonstrates ability to support others while achieving goals.
- Complies with all OSHA and plant published safety regulations.
- Communicates safety issues and concerns to the Production Supervisor or Safety Foreman.
- Utilizes shift pass-down meetings and plant meetings efficiently.
- Follows published SSOP’s for equipment and processes.
- Offers ideas and suggestions on how to improve quality of the product or process, System SOP’s, SSOP’s, Sanitation Program, and plant operations.
- Reviews department and system performances daily.
- Completes work instructions, production log sheets, and sanitation log sheets accurately and in a timely manner.
- Has an active role in ensuring that the plant is audit ready at all times.
- Operates equipment in accordance with SOP’s. Makes corrections based on system out-puts and operational data.
- Monitors and documents membrane flux rates, chemical additions and consumption compared to standards. Informs supervisor of any issues or concerns.
- Monitors all aspects of the production process for leaks and spills;
Takes immediate corrective action and informs the supervisor. - Verifies CIP systems performance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Required:
High School Education or Equivalent
- Minimum 2 years Operator experience within industrial manufacturing.
- Prior experience in managing personnel in a highly diverse and challenging work environment is a plus.
- Must have an established work record that depicts that he or she is reliable and adds value to an organization through service or acceptance of responsibility.
- Knowledge of all production lines and equipment.
- Ability to check components of raw materials and finished product in accordance with published SOP’s.
- Ability to collect all samples in accordance with SOP’s.
- Experience in using the FIFO method.
- Self-starter.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Supports greater employee involvement and actively participates in operating the shift.
- Able to work in teams effectively and encourage a positive work environment.
- Able to demonstrate ability to learn new concepts, accept and embrace change, and be an active member of operating the business.
- Excellent trouble-shooting and problem solving skills.
- Sound communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure all documentation is timely, accurate, and complete.
- Able to meet and demonstrate efficient tracking methods that measure GMP’s, Sanitation requirements, and performance measures.
- Completes pre-operational checks on all equipment before starting a process.
- Excessive ascending and/or descending of ladders and stairs using feet and legs and/or hands and arms on a regular basis. Body agility is emphasized.
