Overview
Learn to set up roll forming and press machines to produce metal shapes for various customers in this pay-for-skills position.
Summary:
Under direct supervision, will perform tasks including but not limited to assisting in setting up tools, dies, and equipment for production of material as specified by work orders, blueprints and diagrams. Load and unload parts on roll machines. Makes minor adjustments and performs coil and line changeovers. See attached description for details.
$23.00/hr - $27.25/hr
Hours / Shifts2nd shift: 3:00PM - 1:30AM Monday to Thursday, $1/hour shift premium
Note:
Employees hired for 2nd shift will train on 1st shift for 6 months – 1 year.
- Follows all established safety guidelines and production procedures, including those for ISO-9002/D1-9000
- Successfully completes all required training, including STEPS program training (JIT, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and Six Sigma), Basic Math, Blueprint Reading and all trainee-level roll operator courses.
- Uses knowledge of Visual Software, Tickets and Labels Software, and Route Sheets to ensure production needs are accurately identified and recorded.
- Under direct supervision, safely set up the roll line and produce roll-formed parts while using blueprints and setup charts; assist with loading and unloading materials from the equipment using guarding, cranes, and bundling materials.
- Shall perform general housekeeping duties and actively participate in continuous improvement projects.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One-to-three months experience, including machine set-up, metal-working, welding/fabrication. Preferred experience includes part inspections, setting and running equipment, and blueprint reading.
- Computer Skills are required – knowledge of Manufacturing software and ability to learn new programs.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 75 lbs as needed
- Must be able to work shift assigned and overtime as needed
- Consistent experience in manufacturing
- Roll-forming or welded tube experience, machine set-up, part inspections, and reading blueprints
- Experience performing setups or machine operations / metal fabrication
- Strong work history with longevity at previous or current employers
