Data Center Project Manager
PlanIT Group, LLC
This role is part of building the largest data center in the United States. As a Data Center Project Manager you will lead all phases of the construction roadmap, ensuring flawless execution of deliverables and timelines. You will manage day‑to‑day operations using established PMO standards, processes, and methodologies, driving excellence, safety, and innovation on‑site.
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction industry in a management or leadership role. Experience overseeing large structured cabling projects and/or data center construction projects highly preferred.
- Experienced in managing all contracting and project delivery methods – lump sum / fixed price, cost plus, GMP, unit price / rate, design‑build, time and material.
- Preferred professional certifications:
- OSHA‑30 Hour certification (must be obtained within first six (6) months of employment if not certified at time of hire).
- BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD).
- BICSI Registered Telecommunications Project Manager (RTPM).
- PMI Project Management Professional (PMP).
- Must be proficient and well‑practiced in leveraging information and data in making informed decisions.
- Extensive knowledge of safety protocols, processes and procedures.
- Deep understanding of industry specific estimating and engineering best practices.
- Ability to identify change events and implement change management best practices.
- Knowledge of various construction technology platforms, quality, and safety standards.
- Solid understanding of construction accounting principles and cost forecasting.
- Able to report and read out project information to all stakeholders as needed or required.
- Ability to develop and manage project schedules.
- Demonstrated professionalism and ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others.
- Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
- Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills, including excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to effectively present to small and large groups.
- Disciplined, detail oriented, organized, and self‑driven.
- Demonstrated skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve complex problems, conflicts, and issues.
- Proficient in using a computer and business / industry applications – Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.), Bluebeam, Procore, Textura and others.
