Construction Manager/ Foreman, Concrete Crew
We are seeking a Concrete Foreman to join our team. This hands on leadership role is ideal for a skilled concrete professional who thrives in the field, leads by example, and enjoys working on commercial building projects primarily in the Madison area.
What You'll Do as the Concrete Foreman:
- Lead and work alongside a crew (typically 5-8 crew members, sometimes up to 20) in commercial concrete forming and finishing.
- Read blueprints and construction plans to set daily objectives, coordinate materials, schedule pours, and direct manpower.
- Communicate professionally with job superintendents, project managers, and field supervisors to achieve project goals.
- Promote and enforce all safety procedures on site for yourself and your crew.
- Perform hands on field work including assembling forms, moving materials, prepping and finishing concrete, and ensuring equipment is ready and functional.
- Track materials, clean and organize job sites, trucks, and equipment to minimize hazards and maximize efficiency.
- Report equipment or vehicle issues promptly to the shop supervisor.
- Support mentorship and development of new team members.
Must Haves as the Concrete Foreman:
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in commercial concrete forming and finishing.
- Strong mastery of concrete mixing, pouring, curing, and finishing techniques.
- Proficient with cast in place concrete and accurate concrete yardage quantification.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Physical stamina for extended repetitive field work.
- Powered Industrial Truck and all terrain forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
Nice to Haves as the Concrete Foreman:
- Experience mentoring and developing talent in the field.
- Prior experience with tools such as power/laser screeds, power buggy, Sky Trac, hand trowels.
- Established relationships with contractors, superintendents, or public entities.
