Guest Advocate (Cashier)

Starting hourly rate: $15.50 USD per hour.

As an on‑demand team member (TM), you have the flexibility to choose your schedule by picking up shifts through the myTime mobile app. Reliable, prompt attendance is required. You must respond to contact attempts and be willing to work a minimum of four hours per month, with at least one shift in each five‑month period, or your employment may be terminated.

• Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard.
• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks.
• Engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve specific needs.
• Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services in the store and specific to your area.
• Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• Scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices.
• Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy.
• Inform guests of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities and events.
• Promote and enroll guests in Target Loyalty programs, and assist with application or sign‑up.
• Assist guests with fulfillment services and Target app features such as Wallet.
• Attempt to accept returns and follow register prompts, partnering with leaders as needed.
• Partner with leaders to de‑escalate situations and recover the guest shopping experience.
• Deliver easy and accurate service to all Order Pick Up, Drive‑Up, and Registry guests.
• Maintain a clean, clutter‑free work area and manage abandoned items and supplies.
• Adhere to safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards.
• Support compliance with adult beverage laws during DU returns and other duties.
• Assist with cash office processes and cash system management.
• Perform other duties based on business needs.

• Accurately handle cash register operations, cash transactions, and support cash office operations.
• Efficiently scan, handle, and move merchandise, including lifting up to 10 pounds typically and up to 44 pounds as needed.
• Maintain flexibility when picking up shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Engage in active shift picking and respond to contact attempts; must work at least one shift within 5 months.
• Work in varying temperatures and humidity, with mobility throughout the shift.
