Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities
Help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they get the products they want and need.Check product quality to ensure freshness. Review "sell by" dates and take appropriate action.Provide customers with fresh and non-perishable grocery products they have ordered.Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept.Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions or make suggestions about products.Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products and store services.Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or accidents.Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.Assist in managing conflicts in a professional manner.Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.Support and assist customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Qualifications
