Assistant Attorney General – Litigation Section, Jefferson City
The Missouri Attorney General's Office is actively seeking attorneys with excellent credentials for an Assistant Attorney General position in the Litigation Section.
OverviewThe Litigation Section defends the State, its employees, and/or officers in lawsuits. The attorney's primary practice will be tort defense, Section 1983 claims, class actions, and claims requesting declaratory and injunctive relief. Attorneys in the Litigation Section handle cases from inception through disposition in both state and federal courts.
TravelThis position may involve intermittent travel within Missouri for meetings or court appearances.
Preferred experience/skills- Experience or interest in civil defense litigation
- State and Federal court experience
- Knowledge of state and federal court rules
- Excellent legal writing, oral advocacy, appellate, and litigation strategy skills
- Jury trial experience preferred, but not required

QualificationsCandidates must be licensed to practice law in Missouri. Candidates with relevant experience and education will be considered for an interview.
CompensationSalary is commensurate with experience.
