This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) within the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) supporting the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and the Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development (DHEWD).

  • Primarily responsible for architecting, configuring, analyzing, and maintaining data structures.
  • Design and implement solutions to integrate data between on‑premises and cloud technologies.
  • Learn and demonstrate software products and prototype functionality to stakeholders.
  • Create, adhere to, and advise team members of best practices, standards, and methodologies.
  • Support the integration of enterprise application databases and real‑time processing into the data warehouse.
  • Responsible for the full life cycle development, implementation, support, architecture and tuning of databases, data warehouses, and data pipelines.
  • Write technical policies, procedures, and documentation for the systems, including data flow diagrams, architecture diagrams, etc.
  • Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment using Agile methodology. Mentor database team members.
  • Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Minimum 9 years in IT industry with emphasis in database development and architecture.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes using Microsoft SSIS and SQL agent jobs.
  • Develop and support complex stored procedures and custom functions.
  • Familiar with Azure Dev Ops and Agile development concepts.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, data architecture, and design concepts with practical experience in the implementation of these concepts.
  • Be self‑motivated and have the desire to continually develop new skills and improve existing skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and organization skills.
  • Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate’s name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.
