Job Location: Central Office, 3024 Dupont Circle, Jefferson City MO 65109

Please note: The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above.

• Examine invoices and interagency billings for accuracy and required documentation including verification of receipt of goods and/or services and process for payment
• Communicate with staff regarding discrepancies on invoices and take appropriate action to correct any discrepancies.
• Fold and stuff check remittance information daily.
• Deliver checks to DESE Accounting.
• Operate standard office equipment such as calculator, copier, and word processor/personal computer.
• Perform other related work as assigned.

• Minimum Qualifications:
  
  Graduation from high school or the GED equivalent
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Considerable knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.
  • Working knowledge of office methods and procedures.
  • Ability to expedite a large volume of detailed work.
  • Ability to make arithmetical calculations with speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer, computer terminal, calculator, and copier.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public.
• Other qualifications and experience which in the opinion of the Commissioner of Education meet the requirements of the position may be accepted in lieu of the above.
• Lack of post‐secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
