Overview

POSITION TITLE: Speech Language Pathologist

FLSA: Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold proper state certification

REPORTS TO: Principal and/or other Supervisor

Speech/ Language Pathology position in the early childhood special education setting. The SLP shall assess students and provide therapeutic intervention to students exhibiting speech, language and/or voice disorders to reduce problems impacting functioning in the educational setting. Duties shall include but are not limited to:

• Student screenings for determination of speech/ language evaluation needs
• Speech/ language evaluations and interpretation of results.
• Development of Individual Education Plans and implementation of treatment
• Maintenance of progress notes for progress monitoring and reporting.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement classroom activities and supports to promote speech and language skills of students.
• Provide staff development and support related to speech and language functioning of students.
• Demonstrate effective and positive interpersonal relationships with staff, students and community.
• Must be able to collaborate with peers, possess a positive attitude and be flexible with change.

• Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
• Attend meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
• Serve on committees as assigned.
• Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g. instructional technology)
