Job Location: This position will be located at 205 Jefferson St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.

Outreach activities include the Childhood Connections e-newsletter, various webinars with stakeholders, and advisory council meetings. Outreach is important; it helps families and professionals become more involved in Missouri’s system of childhood services, including early learning and after school programs. From learning about programs to providing feedback on a policy, there are a variety of ways that stakeholders can engage with others at the local, regional, and state level.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the coordination of outreach section staff activities.
  • Serve as back up to the Program Manager in the outreach section, when needed.
  • Assign, coordinate, and review communications, multimedia products and projects assigned to staff.
  • Stay up to date with important projects and key activities occurring in the Office of Childhood.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to promote early childhood programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure all deliverables are professional, accurate, and presented with a polished, high-quality standard that reflects organizational excellence.
  • Create and manage content for websites, newsletters, social media, and press releases.
  • Help with creating and engaging the onboarding process for Office of Childhood.
  • Assist with media campaign activities for the Office of Childhood.
  • Assist with the annual Conference on the Young Years (CYY).
  • Assist with the Department and Office of Childhood’s strategic planning teams with selection of objectives, timelines, and measures.
  • Participate in the Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems (ECCS) Advisory Council meetings.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in communication, public relations, education, early education, child/human development, social/human services, or a closely related field.
  • OR
  • Four or more years of work in the field of education, early childhood, communication, public relations, or other experience that contributes directly to the understanding of activities of this assignment.
