Job SummaryThe QA/QC Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and quality control processes across projects, ensuring that all work meets the required standards, specifications, and regulations. This role involves managing the QA/QC team, developing and implementing quality systems and procedures, conducting inspections and audits, and working closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to maintain the highest standards of quality throughout the project lifecycle.
The QA/QC Manager ensures that all project deliverables are produced to specification and that quality issues are identified and addressed in a timely manner.
- Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC processes and systems in accordance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications.
- Lead and manage the QA/QC team, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high-quality performance and continuous improvement.
- Ensure that quality assurance protocols are followed across all project phases, from design and procurement to construction and handover.
- Develop and enforce quality policies, procedures, and work instructions to ensure consistent, high-quality deliverables.
- Conduct inspections and audits of work processes and materials to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Identify quality issues, non-conformances, and areas for improvement, and work with project teams to implement corrective actions.
- Ensure that inspections are carried out in a timely and efficient manner, documenting and reporting results accurately.
- Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and verify their implementation to prevent recurrence of issues.
- Maintain detailed records of all QA/QC activities, including inspection reports, test results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective actions.
- Prepare and present regular QA/QC reports for senior management, clients, and stakeholders, outlining key findings, issues, and performance metrics.
- Ensure that all QA/QC documentation is up to date, organized, and accessible to relevant parties for review and approval.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure quality standards are maintained across the project.
- Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure that the quality of materials and products meets the required specifications.
- Communicate quality expectations to all project team members, ensuring they understand and adhere to quality control processes.
- Identify opportunities for improving quality management processes and practices, implementing changes where appropriate to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide training and support to project teams on QA/QC practices, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international standards, regulations, and codes relevant to the project and industry.
- Stay updated on changes in quality standards, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure the project remains in compliance.
- Support external audits and inspections as required by regulatory bodies, clients, or third-party organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of total experience in quality assurance and quality control, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role overseeing QA/QC activities for large-scale projects.
- Experience in construction, engineering, or manufacturing industries, with a focus on project quality management.
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes, tools, and techniques, with the ability to implement and enforce quality management systems.
- Proficiency in conducting inspections, audits, and assessments to verify compliance with quality standards.
