Role Purpose
The Network Security Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the security of the organization’s network infrastructure. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to prevent unauthorized access, attacks, and damage to the organization’s network. The manager ensures that all security protocols are in line with corporate guidelines, drives compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks, and optimizes network security to protect against cyber threats.
KeyAccountabilities
- Manage the effectiveness of the defense‑in‑depth architecture against known vulnerabilities and conduct comprehensive assessments of systems and networks.
- Ensure alignment of the network security infrastructure with industry standards and frameworks such as NCA, NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS controls.
- Develop, implement, and maintain security systems and tools to protect, detect, and analyse security threats in real‑time.
- Analyse data from various cyber defense tools (e.g., IDS alerts, firewalls, network traffic logs) to identify and respond to potential threats.
- Collaborate with IT, legal, compliance, and risk management teams to ensure alignment on security strategies and initiatives.
- Communicate security projects, posture, incident reports, and recommendations effectively to management and stakeholders.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments of security systems to ensure they are effective and compliant with the latest security standards.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate security processes for increased efficiency and accuracy.
- Monitor and maintain a register of security incidents, documenting occurrences and the corrective actions taken.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and cybersecurity management policies, procedures, and controls across the department, guaranteeing employee safety, legislative compliance, secure and high‑quality product/service delivery, and a responsible environmental attitude.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in information security, cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field
- Relevant professional certification preferred (CISSP - CISM) (CCIE - CCNP)
Experience:
- Minimum of nine years’ work experience with at least four of which in a relevant role
