Job Description & How to Apply Below

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

This is a Principal, Program Manager (PPM) role responsible for working across the AWS Organization - infrastructure teams (Data center planning and delivery teams, networking), Ec2, Sales, IPM etc. to align on both short- and long-range demand plans for APAC data center capacity and the infrastructure response through the acquisition of space and power.

This role is inherently cross-functional and requires the ability to think big and collaborate with others as you work closely with teams across AWS Infra, AWS service teams (EC2, S3, EBS), sales teams and internal Amazon customers (SDO). The shifting demand (ML) and supply (power and permitting constraints) and critical nature of the role requires someone who maintains momentum, clarity of vision and adaptability while communicating effectively across a diverse set of customers, partners and leadership.

You will interface with sales and product teams, deep dive customer considerations (cost, service/feature parity, latency) to ensure customer signals are incorporated in received forecasts and will own driving regional migrations as a key lever to ensure long term supportability. The PPM must effectively distinguish between one/two way door decisions. Decisions driven by the PPM create significant impact to AWS Infra org and all of our customers so excellent judgement (based on domain and technical expertise) is required in managing complex problems, making trade-offs, proposals and escalations.

Communication with executive audiences is a regular occurrence. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are therefore essential for success in this role.

This role is posted in Mumbai but can also be based out of Singapore.

About you:
  • You bring a unique combination of technical, analytical, and business skills; bridging these together to drive scalable customer centric solutions.
  • You are comfortable juggling competing priorities, being scrappy when needed and handling ambiguity.
  • You bring extensive experience in defining products and programs, effectively communicate strategic initiatives to business leaders, and are able to work with and drive traction with teams that have competing priorities.
  • You are data driven and use data to support your ideas, drive actionable outcomes, and identify opportunities for partnerships across Amazon.
  • You look around corners and are proactive in identifying areas of risk to customers.
Key job responsibilities
  • Streamline reporting, benchmark forecasting assumptions and highlight key supportability risks for stakeholders.
  • Dive deep into planning models to identify risks and opportunities for region health and resolve constraints by negotiating across demand and supply owners.
  • Initiate, develop and maintain relationships with sales teams across 12 clusters in APAC; instate scalable mechanisms to ensure infra team actions are clear, swift and efficient in response to emergent customer needs.
  • Balance long (2-13 year) and short-term (0-24 months) capacity delivery planning for short-term (0-24 months) with responsibilities to identify capacity risks, develop, and initiate capacity shortfall mitigation strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to invent and simplify processes, identify business risks and implement resolutions and scalable mechanism.
  • Communicate ideas concisely to a wide variety of stakeholders for purposes ranging from informative to seeking approvals from executives.
