The role acts as the single point of accountability for Engineering contracts and warranties across OEMs, MROs, lessors, and service providers, ensuring contractual rights are enforced, warranty recoveries are maximized, financial exposure is minimized, and supplier performance is governed effectively.

This position directly supports cost control, operational continuity, fleet reliability, and strategic supplier management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • OEM support agreements (aircraft, engines, APUs, components)
  • Power-by-the-Hour / RPFH / FHS / Total Care agreements
  • MRO, repair, and engineering service contracts
  • Warranty clauses within purchase, lease, induction, and redelivery agreements
  • Ensure contracts are clearly interpreted, digitally codified (key terms, SLAs, remedies), and aligned with operational practices.
  • Lead contract governance, lifecycle management, obligations tracking, risk registers, and compliance monitoring.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and contractual evidence trails.
  • Support negotiations, amendments, renewals, and commercial optimization initiatives.
  • Utilize benchmarking, supplier scorecards, and historical recovery data to strengthen commercial positioning.
  • Prepare financial risk and exposure assessments related to contract non-performance.
  • Conduct Contractual Effectiveness Assessments to inform strategic decisions.
  • Establish and manage an end-to-end warranty framework with standardized workflows and KPIs.
  • Ensure timely identification, submission, and follow-up of warranty claims across aircraft, engines, APUs, components, and cabin systems.
  • Maximize warranty recovery and cost avoidance by validating contractual entitlements and financial reconciliation.
  • Monitor supplier warranty performance and enforce remedies and penalties where applicable.
  • Work closely with Finance to:
  • Track credits, compensation, penalties, and commercial remedies.
  • Ensure accurate financial recognition of warranty recoveries.
  • Support cost control through contractual leverage and recovery opportunities.
  • Provide data-driven analysis to support budget protection and exposure mitigation.
  • Act as Engineering's commercial interface with:
  • OEMs (airframe, engines, components)
  • MRO providers and repair vendors
  • Lessors and asset owners
  • Lead discussions on contractual performance shortfalls and enforce contractual remedies.
  • Support escalation strategies for service failures and breaches.
  • Align contractual terms with CAMO, Planning, Maintenance, and Quality processes.
  • Support aircraft induction-to-redelivery lifecycle ensuring full leverage of warranty entitlements.
  • Maintain structured digital repositories for contracts and warranty documentation.
  • Ensure audit readiness through traceable documentation and compliance evidence.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
  • Legal or commercial training related to contracts is an advantage.
  • Formal training in contract management and/or aviation commercial agreements is an advantage.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in airline Engineering & Maintenance, CAMO, MRO, or aviation commercial roles.
  • Strong experience managing Engineering contracts and warranties in an airline or MRO environment.
  • Proven exposure to OEM and MRO contractual frameworks and warranty processes.
  • Experience supporting contract negotiations and managing supplier performance issues.
  • Strong understanding of airline maintenance, reliability, and operational cost drivers.
  • Excellent contract interpretation and commercial judgment.
  • Ability to use supplier scorecards, recovery KPIs, and risk/ROI analysis to drive decisions.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
