** JOB PURPOSE

A Project Engineer will be responsible for ensuring all assigned projects comply with Unilever Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) standards, local regulations, and global engineering guidelines. Lead and conduct risk assessments (HAZOP, HIRA, JSA) and implement mitigation plans. Ensure contractors and vendors are fully aligned with Unilever’s Safety Management System and safe work practices. Drive sustainability objectives within projects including energy efficiency, water reduction, waste reduction, and responsible material selection.
Ensure all installations meet required GMP, HACCP, and food safety compliance standards for Foods, Personal Care, B&W & Home Care quality norms.
A positive contributor to the factory’s work environment and culture, the Project Engineer will act as a leading coach and mentor to the Supervisors, Technicians and Operators around the areas of engineering and Unilever Manufacturing System techniques.
** WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
**** P – PLANNING & PROJECT MANAGEMENT
*** Develop complete project scopes including
** URS, functional specifications, layouts, process flow diagrams, and BOQs**.
* Prepare and manage
** CAPEX proposals**, feasibility studies, ROI calculations, and project justification documents.
* Build detailed project timelines using tools like
** MS Project / Primavera**, defining critical paths and risk buffers.
* Identify project stakeholders and develop communication plans across cross‑functional teams (Quality, Supply Chain, Production, Finance, Safety, R&D).
* Define procurement strategies, coordinate with sourcing teams, and support
** vendor evaluation, RFQs, and technical bid evaluations**.
* Coordinate with local and global engineering teams to ensure alignment with
** Unilever Engineering Standards (UES)**.
** E – EXECUTION & IMPLEMENTATION
*** Lead end-to-end execution of
** multi-category projects**, such as: + Home Care (Detergents, Liquids) + Beauty & Personal Care (Skin, Hair, Deodorants, Soap Bars) + Foods Category FEED Study
* Supervise on-site engineering, installation, utilities integration, commissioning, and start-up.
* Manage contractors, supervise daily progress, and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and schedule.
* Monitor CAPEX utilization and track expenditures vs. forecast in coordination with Finance.
* Conduct FAT, SAT, and performance validation trials to ensure equipment meets required functionality and KPIs.

Qualifications & Skills
**** Education & Experience
*** Bachelor’s degree in
** mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering**.
* 3–7 years of experience in capital project engineering within FMCG, Food, or other Manufacturing sectors.
* Experience managing
** multi-category or multi-technology projects
** is preferred.
** Technical Skills
*** Strong knowledge of utilities systems (steam, air, HVAC, chilled water).
