Senior management role with full accountability for the pre-contract estimation and bidding function across all façade and building envelope projects.
Job PurposeThe Estimation Manager is responsible for leading and governing the full pre-contract cost estimation and bidding function for façade, aluminium, glass, and building envelope works.
The role ensures that all tenders are accurate, competitive, technically compliant, and risk-aware
, fully aligned with the company's strategic, technical, and financial objectives

This position plays a critical role in securing profitable projects through sound pricing strategies, robust cost build-ups, and disciplined risk assessment
, while ensuring strong coordination with Engineering, Procurement, Planning, Commercial, and Operations teams.
- Lead, manage, and mentor the estimation team across all façade and envelope tenders.
- Establish and enforce standardized estimation methodologies, cost models, and review processes
. - Ensure full compliance with company bidding policies, governance frameworks, and approval matrices.
- Review and analyze tender documents, specifications, drawings, BOQs, and contractual conditions
. - Define project execution strategies and pricing approaches in coordination with Engineering and Operations.
- Identify contractual, technical, and commercial risks at tender stage and propose mitigation strategies.
- Ensure accurate quantity take-offs for:
- Aluminium systems and extrusions
- Curtain wall and glazing systems
- Steel supports and secondary structures
- GRC / GFRC elements
- Sealants, fixings, accessories, and installation works
- Coordinate with the Technical Office to validate façade systems, profiles, glass types, and constructability assumptions.
- Materials and fabrication
- Logistics and transportation
- Installation and site resources
- Preliminaries, overheads, and margins
- Conduct risk assessments, value engineering options, and opportunity analysis
. - Ensure pricing reflects realistic productivity rates, fabrication constraints, and installation sequencing.
- Liaise with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to obtain compliant supplier quotations.
- Benchmark material and subcontractor pricing against historical data and market trends.
- Evaluate supplier commercial and technical compliance at tender stage.
- Lead tender clarifications, commercial negotiations, and value engineering discussions with clients and consultants.
- Support post-award handover to Projects, Cost Control, and Planning teams
, ensuring alignment on scope, assumptions, risks, and budgets. - Ensure all commercial and technical assumptions are clearly documented and communicated.
- Maintain and develop a historical cost database and benchmark library.
- Analyze tender outcomes and awarded project performance to continuously improve estimation accuracy.
- Capture lessons learned and integrate them into future bids.
- Authority to approve estimation methodologies, pricing structures, and cost assumptions.
- Strong influence on bid/no-bid decisions and tender strategies.
- Escalation authority to the General Manager on high-risk or strategically significant tenders.
- 15-20 years of experience in façade contracting.
- Proven experience as Estimation Manager or Senior Estimator within large façade or building envelope contractors.
- Strong exposure to high-rise towers, complex curtain wall systems, and mega projects
. - Solid understanding of contractual, commercial, and risk aspects of façade projects.
- Deep expertise in:
- Curtain wall (unitized & stick) systems
- Skylights and bespoke façade solutions
- Strong knowledge of:
- Aluminium extrusions and profiles
- Glass specifications, coatings, and performance requirements
- Ability to interpret international façade standards and project specifications.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel-based cost models and estimation tools
. - Strong analytical and commercial acumen.
- Strong leadership and team management capability.
- High attention to detail and accuracy under pressure.
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial judgment.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management
. - Professional certifications are an advantage.
- Tender hit rate and competitiveness.
- Accuracy of estimates versus awarded project budgets.
- Effectiveness of risk identification and mitigation at tender stage.
- Timely submission of tenders.
