Design Engineer - Electrical

Our client, one of the leading MEP specialist construction company is seeking to recruit a Design Engineer for their Electrical Engineering Department.

The successful candidate will mainly:

• Assist Senior Engineer(s) evaluation of the engineering content of projects for which designs by others
• Assist Senior Engineer(s)/Tendering Dept. as required in development of concept design for the Design and Build/EPC contracts and ensure to use recognized methods of calculation to a level by which materials and equipment can procured and shop drawings can be produce.
• Assist Project management team in all technical aspects of the works, including assistance with procurement where required.
• Assist liaison with the Client's personnel in securing approvals of drawings, materials and equipment.
• Assist in liaison with CAD operators in the timely production of shop drawings to acceptable level.

Responsibilities:

• Gather all necessary requirements and information in order to prepare creative, thorough and professional design proposals and test data
• Carry out calculations by recognized corporate procedures and with the use of corporate-approved design software to evaluate the performance criteria of systems and equipment.
• Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications and accuracy of calculations and dimensions.
• Coordinate and follow up to ensure timely execution of the tendering process and/or project execution.

• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience including supervision.
• Knowledge and related experience of a wide spectrum of engineering services for building and infrastructure in particular with electrical engineering.
• Ability to assist in technical aspects of tenders
