Overview
The Junior Procurement Coordinator will support the procurement process at ACTION International Services by assisting with procurement activities while fostering strong supplier relationships. This entry-level role is ideal for a motivated individual who will be the first point of contact between internal stakeholders and suppliers. The candidate should demonstrate an understanding of basic business needs and the ability to offer effective solutions.
Strong problem-solving and customer service skills are essential for success in this role.
- Assist in end-to-end procurement processes for ACTION International Services, including RFQ, bid evaluations, PO issuance, and contract management.
- Support cost savings initiatives by reviewing spending patterns and suggesting cost reduction opportunities.
- Research potential suppliers and assist in qualifying them to meet technical specifications and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and project managers to optimize sourcing strategies.
- Help assess suppliers’ proposals/quotations, analyze offers, and prepare basic evaluations.
- Support contract negotiations and assist in managing contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Ensure timely release of purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement records and supplier databases.
- Track order status and assist in managing delivery schedules to mitigate risks related to delivery and quality issues.
- Follow up on any delivery delays and help develop contingency plans.
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring adherence to procurement policies and procedures.
- Gain an understanding of basic shipping regulations and support supplier relationship management.
- Familiarity with procurement software such as ORACLE, SAP, etc., is a plus.
- Assist in preparing procurement reports and analyzing purchasing metrics for management review.
- Up to 2 years of experience in a procurement role, preferably within the construction industry.
- Diploma in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree and/or CIPS certification is a plus.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
